TSA Launches Dedicated Security Lanes at 10 US Airports

On July 1, 2025, the TSA introduced dedicated security lanes at ten US airports near military bases. Active-duty service members, their families, and Department of Defense (DoD) civilians are eligible for this program, which is called “Serve with Honor, Travel with Ease.”
The new lanes will be set in airports in San Antonio, Anchorage, Atlanta, Austin, Colorado Springs, El Paso, Fayetteville, Nashville, San Diego, and Seattle.
Active-duty service members and DoD civilians now have access to shorter lines, the ability to keep shoes, belts, and light jackets on, and to leave laptops and compliant liquids in carry-on bags.
The program also offers a $25 discount for military spouses and free TSA PreCheck enrollment to Gold Star families—spouses, parents, children, or siblings of service members who died in the line of duty.
The TSA intentionally introduced the initiative ahead of Independence Day to ease the heavy travel period and demonstrate national appreciation for military service. Acting TSA Administrator Ha Nguyen McNeill emphasized the symbolic timing, saying, "We strive to honor those who serve and the families who stand beside them."
