Lodging
Lodgings are accommodations where travelers can make bookings for a temporary stay, usually overnight. They include hotels, motels, hostels, short-term rentals, resorts, vacation rentals, and bed and breakfasts (B&Bs).
Lodging options vary in terms of price, amenities, comfort, and style, catering to different traveler preferences and budgets. Basic lodgings like budget hotels and motels provide essential amenities like a bed and bathroom, while upscale ones like resorts and luxury hotels offer additional services like concierge assistance, spas, and fitness centers, which come with a service fee.
Lodges come in various forms, including chain hotels, independent hotels, timeshare properties, etc., and use distribution channels like OTAs, GDSs, and their own websites to reach potential guests. They also deploy revenue management strategies, like dynamic pricing, to maximize occupancy rate and profitability.
