We're looking for a skilled Java Cloud Engineer with a solid understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Primary responsibility will be to assist in migrating mainframe-based (IBM z/TPF) proprietary systems to GCP services.
About Project
For several years, our client has been transitioning from old Mainframe TPF infrastructure to Google Cloud, and looking for additional options to expedite the transformation process.
You Have
A minimum of 5 years' experience in software development, with a strong background in Java, is required.
A minimum of 5 years' experience with the Spring Framework and its ecosystem is required.
Strong hands-on experience with GCP services is a must.
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams ( this person will be partnering with z/TPF specialists).
Proven experience in architecting and implementing high-volume, scalable systems leveraging GCP services.
Would be a plus
Google Cloud Certified.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
Any experience related to z/TPF and IBM mainframes (not mandatory) Experience with C and assembler.
You Are Going To
Collaborate with z/TPF specialists to understand the existing mainframe architecture and required functionalities for cloud migration.
Design and develop Java-based applications and services on GCP, utilizing core GCP services such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes, Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub Sub, and others.
