United Revenue Hits Record $59.1B After Big 2025 Investments

United Airlines has released its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2025, reporting its highest annual revenue on record, supported by increased capacity and ongoing investments in operations and customer experience.
Fourth quarter 2025 financial results
Revenue reached $15.4 billion, representing a 4.8 percent year-over-year increase.
Adjusted net income for the quarter came in at $1 billion, down slightly from $1.1 billion in the same period in 2024.
Diluted earnings per share were $3.19, while adjusted diluted earnings per share were $3.10. By comparison, in the fourth quarter of 2024, diluted earnings per share were $2.95 and adjusted diluted earnings per share were $3.26.
United increased capacity by 6.5 percent compared with the same period in 2024.
Full year 2025 financial results
United reported revenue of $59.1 billion, up 3.5 percent year-over-year and the highest annual revenue in the airline’s history.
Adjusted net income for 2025 totaled $3.5 billion, matching the adjusted net income reported for full-year 2024.
Diluted earnings per share reached $10.20, with adjusted diluted earnings per share of $10.62. In comparison, 2024 diluted earnings per share were $9.45, while adjusted diluted earnings per share stood at $10.61.
Operational improvements and infrastructure expansion
United made several notable advances during the fourth quarter and throughout 2025. The airline began operating from a fifth additional gate at Chicago O’Hare, which was assigned by the City of Chicago, helping to support increased flight activity.
United also completed the rollout of updated self-service check-in kiosks across all stations in 2025. According to the carrier, these upgrades reduced the average customer transaction time by around one minute for tasks such as check-in, baggage handling, and boarding pass printing.
Sustainability initiatives
In 2025, United expanded its use of blended sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) by purchasing it for operations at Houston, Newark, and Washington Dulles airports. This brought the total number of United hubs using SAF to six.
United also recently introduced a new feature that allows customers to preorder fresh meals in Economy class before departure. Orders can be placed through the airline’s website or mobile app. United expects the initiative to prevent more than 100,000 pounds of unused food from going to landfills each year, supporting its sustainability goals.
Сustomer experience enhancements
In October 2025, following the announcement of United’s third-quarter 2025 results, CEO Scott Kirby highlighted planned investments in customer experience.
Two months after, United launched an updated mobile app that integrates AI across multiple touchpoints, including boarding updates, disruption management, personalized alerts, and real-time travel guidance.
