Senior .NET AI Engineer
About AltexSoft
AltexSoft is building a new AI Engineering Department as part of a company-wide AI transformation, and we're looking for an experienced .NET AI-Native Engineer to help shape it. This is a hands-on role for engineers who use AI as a force multiplier — not a replacement for engineering judgment — and who can take ownership of production-grade .NET software from architecture through delivery, regardless of whether the work is produced by a human or an AI agent.

NET-first technology core, paired with modern AI-native practices: we believe exceptional engineers are defined not just by deep expertise in a language like C#/.NET, but by their ability to solve complex problems, architect scalable systems, and effectively collaborate with AI to deliver business value across diverse international client engagements.
You Have
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with .NET/C#, including practical experience adopting AI-native development practices in production
- strong fundamentals in architecture, system design, distributed systems, clean code, testing, debugging, security, and performance optimization
- the ability to read, review, and improve .NET/C# code, with comfort navigating adjacent languages and stacks
- proven experience delivering complex production software across the full SDLC
- hands-on experience with AI-native workflows — AI integrated across planning, implementation, testing, documentation, and delivery
- experience building and orchestrating AI agents for engineering or business workflows
- experience with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, or equivalent)
- experience with Specification-Driven Development (BMAD, OpenSpec, or equivalent)
- strong prompt and context engineering skills
- solid understanding of LLMs — capabilities, limitations, hallucination risks, and validation techniques
- ability to critically evaluate and improve AI-generated code, architecture, docs, and tests before deployment
- strong ownership mindset, accountable for outcomes regardless of human or AI authorship
- excellent communication skills; Upper-Intermediate English or higher

Experience with one or more of the following: ASP.NET Core / .NET 8+, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Model Context Protocol (MCP), multi-agent systems, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, OpenAI SDK, Anthropic API, Google Gemini, Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, vector databases, AI evaluation frameworks, AI-assisted testing, AI-assisted architecture design, AI-powered DevOps automation, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures.
You Are Going To
- design, build, and deliver production-grade .NET software solutions for international clients
- apply AI-native engineering practices throughout the entire Software Development Lifecycle
- break down complex business problems into structured specifications and executable implementation plans
- use AI coding agents to accelerate .NET software delivery while maintaining full ownership of architecture, code quality, security, and maintainability
- build, configure, and orchestrate AI agents to automate engineering and business workflows
- create high-quality technical specifications, acceptance criteria, and implementation plans before development begins
- review, validate, and improve AI-generated code, tests, documentation, and technical designs
- collaborate closely with architects, product managers, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and AI specialists
- optimize engineering processes through AI automation and intelligent development workflows
- participate in technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and engineering decision-making
- continuously improve delivery quality, engineering efficiency, and AI adoption across projects
- share knowledge and contribute to the evolution of AltexSoft's AI Engineering practices
