GBTA Launches SAF Hub to Push Greener Corporate Travel

Frame

The GBTA Foundation, the cause-led arm of the Global Business Travel Association, has launched SAF Corporate Connect, a collaboration hub designed to accelerate the adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in the corporate travel sector.

The initiative will serve as a resource with practical advice, tools, and market intelligence needed to understand, evaluate, and integrate SAF into travel sustainability programs. The hub offers

  • Guidance on SAF purchasing options and integration.
  • Updated information on SAF supply, policy developments, and tech innovations.
  • Forum for industry peers to share best practices and foster partnerships with SAF suppliers.

The program aims to help overcome barriers such as complexity, lack of awareness, and budget constraints.

Air travel generates a significant carbon footprint and remains one of the hardest sectors to decarbonize. SAF, which can reduce lifecycle carbon emissions by up to 80 percent compared to conventional jet fuel, represents one of the few scalable solutions.

Recently, American and Alaska Airlines announced a $150 million investment fund to accelerate sustainable aviation advancement.

In addition, Hawaiian Airlines announced plans to implement SAF on select flights between Osaka, Japan, and Honolulu, Hawaii, while British Airways signed a multi‑year SAF agreement with EcoCeres.
