Hawaiian Airlines Adopts SAF, Targets 10% SAF Use by 2030

Hawaiian Airlines has announced plans to start using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) on select flights between Osaka, Japan, and Honolulu, Hawaii.
Fuel deliveries have already started at Osaka-Kansai International Airport (KIX), marking the first time Hawaiian Airlines has incorporated SAF into its operations.
The SAF used on Hawaiian Airlines flights is certified according to international sustainability benchmarks, including the ISCC CORSIA and ISCC EU certifications, guaranteeing adherence to strict environmental standards.
This move aligns with Hawaiian Airlines' broader sustainability initiative, which aims to replace 10 percent of traditional jet fuel with SAF by 2030.
British Airways shares a similar goal of fueling 10 percent of its flights with SAF by 2030. The airline signed a multi‑year SAF agreement with EcoCeres in June 2025.
