Allegiant Starts 13 New Routes, Aims to Capture Spring Leisure Demand Fast

Untitled design

Allegiant Air has announced it is starting or restarting 13 domestic routes in a two-day burst on February 12–13, 2026. This kind of “batch start” is designed to move quickly: routes go on sale, the first flights operate, and the airline can see demand immediately. The next thing to watch is whether these routes keep running beyond the initial seasonal window, or whether Allegiant shifts aircraft to other markets if bookings are weaker than expected.

More nonstop options, new price pressure

When a low-cost airline adds nonstop routes, travelers often can avoid a connection through a central hub, saving time and reducing the risk of missed connections. Airports also like these launches because even a few weekly flights can bring new visitors and spending.

At the same time, new nonstops can pressure fares, because they pull passengers away from connecting itineraries on bigger carriers. Allegiant’s broader strategy focuses on underserved mid-size markets, where a small amount of capacity can make a noticeable difference.

A new LA-area foothold with real competition

The most high-profile change is Allegiant’s entry into Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR), with service beginning February 12, 2026. It will launch flights to Bellingham International Airport (BLI) and Provo Airport (PVU) on that date. This matters because Burbank is a convenient airport for the LA region, and low-cost airlines are actively reshaping service there. Allegiant will also overlap with Breeze Airways on at least one city pair, which makes the early pricing and schedules worth watching.

New launches are now on schedule

Allegiant has already published the start dates in its route announcements, including new flights tied to Fort Lauderdale and upstate New York airports. For example, Allegiant’s expansion materials list Albany–Fort Lauderdale beginning February 13, 2026, and additions to Rochester and Albany tied to Fort Lauderdale around the same window.
