About AltexSoft
We're looking for a Senior Business Analyst/Product owner who will serve as the "Functional Architect" for our B2B financial services, driving the product lifecycle from business requirements to technical execution. You will bridge the gap between commercial travel operations and backend engineering to ensure every booking is accurately reflected in financial systems.
About Project
The project aims to build a modular B2B finance service solution for the B2B stream. The primary goal is to create a scalable financial backend that supports the distribution of hotel inventory to business partners, handling accounting, automated invoice generation, and financial reporting.
You Have
• 5+ years of professional experience as a Business Analyst in software development projects
• Strong financial acumen, including a deep understanding of core accounting concepts, profit/loss vs. balance sheet dynamics, and the alignment of financial records with operational databases.
• Solid technical foundation demonstrating the ability to thrive in backend-focused environments.
• Strong analytical capabilities, allowing you to convert high-level commercial rules into precise mathematical models and logical conditions for our engineering teams to automate.
• Experience using AI assistants (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) in day-to-day tasks.
• Experience in presales, including requirements analysis for proposals, participation in client discovery, and effort estimation support
• Deep understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum delivery practices
• Strong experience in requirements elicitation, business process modeling, and Software Requirements Specifications (SRS) preparation
• Proficiency in UML and BPMN modeling for process and system design
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Miro for requirements management and visualization
• Ability to translate complex business needs into structured functional, non-functional, and technical requirements
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with both business and technical audiences
Would be a plus
• Understanding of API-based architectures and system integration principles
• Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
• Experience preparing functional demos, wireframes, or solution prototypes for presales presentations
• Experience building AI-powered solutions or integrating AI pipelines/APIs into software projects
• Extensive domain knowledge in the travel tech industry, specifically regarding aggregator APIs, the lifecycle of booking statuses, and the intricacies of hotel cancellation policies and penalty windows.
You Are Going To
• Requirements Ownership: Define and maintain the business logic for complex financial workflows, including revenue/cost split models (MARGIN vs. POBO) and automated netting algorithms for cancellations
• Engineering & Architecture Partnership: Work closely with Solution Architects and Engineering to design backend-heavy integration patterns (REST/OData) that ensure data consistency and system resilience
• Passive Reconciliation & Observability: Own the "Passive Reconciliation" scope by defining how the system polls ERP statuses to finalize records and identifies internal distribution imbalances that require review
• ERP and Domain Strategy: Direct how travel-specific data maps to accounting concepts like G/L accounts, VAT codes, and posting periods within the ERP
• Decision Tree Governance: Design and document logical flows that determine transaction types (Sale, Credit, Reverse, Penalty) based on the evolving state of a booking
