Waldorf Astoria Arrives in Finland with Hilton Rebranding Historic Hotel Maria in Helsinki

On July 3, 2025, Hilton signed a management agreement with M&L Group to rebrand Helsinki’s Hotel Maria as the inaugural Waldorf Astoria in Finland.
The 116-room hotel in Kruununhaka will undergo the rebrand later this year after a brief transitional phase while remaining operational. The building dates from 1885, and its preserved architecture will be integrated into the new design.
Hilton states that Waldorf Astoria Helsinki will feature signature dining, a bar, a fitness studio, a Nordic wellness spa, and a traditional Finnish sauna.
Waldorf Astoria is Hilton’s luxury brand, with 67 openings worldwide, including in Osaka, Costa Rica, and New York.
This is the Hilton's first Nordic entry and part of its growth toward nearly 300 luxury hotels in EMEA. Singapore-based M&L has 21 international properties, and this will be its eighth collaboration with Hilton.
