Trip.com Recognizes Tickets Drive Trips, Adds Events to Platform

Trip.com Group has announced a new partnership with Coras, a Dublin-based ticketing company, allowing customers to purchase tickets for events and performances directly through Trip.com.
Through this agreement, Trip.com gains access to ticket inventory for in-demand events across multiple regions, including major European football matches, top US sports leagues such as Major League Baseball and Major League Soccer, music concerts, and performances in both London’s West End and New York’s Broadway.
This collaboration reflects a growing recognition of the role that live events play in driving travel demand. Coras CEO Mark McLaughlin noted that the massive global impact of the Taylor Swift Eras Tour demonstrated how customers often start their trip planning process with an event in mind.
Once a ticket is secured, travelers are on to book flights, hotels, and transportation, creating valuable opportunities for platforms like Trip.com to upsell complementary services.
Customers will be able to purchase tickets at official venue prices with real-time availability, without being redirected to external websites.
This move supports Trip.com’s broader strategy to diversify offerings and leverage experiences as a driver of travel bookings and customer loyalty.
The announcement follows a strong third quarter for Trip.com Group. The company reported net revenue of $2.58 billion, reflecting a 16 percent increase from the third quarter of 2024.
