Ryanair Adds Cars at Checkout via CarTrawler, Fuels Ancillary Growth

CarTrawler, a B2B provider of car rental and mobility solutions, has launched a new partnership with Ryanair.
Partnership details
Ryanair, which serves more than 207 million passengers annually on short-haul routes across Europe, now shows CarTrawler’s car rental inventory at checkout. The integration places exclusive car rental options directly inside Ryanair’s website and mobile app, giving passengers a way to book ground transportation together with their flights.
CarTrawler’s cloud-based Connect Platform manages real-time vehicle availability, pricing, and booking fulfillment.
Value for both companies
For Ryanair, the move strengthens its already rich ancillary revenue base, which accounts for more than 30 percent of total revenue through add-ons such as bags, seats, and insurance.
For CarTrawler, the deal adds another major airline to its portfolio, which already includes carriers such as easyJet and Wizz Air.
A shift toward door-to-door mobility
The Ryanair and CarTrawler alliance mirrors a growing industry shift toward integrated travel solutions.
For example, Riyadh Air recently joined forces with Uber Technologies to integrate ride-hailing with air travel. This gives passengers a unified service that covers everything from booking flights to arranging transportation after landing, with rewards applied through loyalty programs.
