LATAM Joins the AI Agent Trend, Launches Trip Planning Tool

LATAM Airlines Group has introduced a new AI travel agent designed to simplify travel planning for its customers across Latin America.
After its beta debut in Chile in April 2025, the tool expanded its availability to include Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, and additional markets by mid-2025.
Leveraging generative AI technology powered by Google’s Vertex AI, the agent assists users in trip planning and booking through natural, conversational interactions. It provides recommendations based on users’ preferences, travel history, budgets, and real-time data on prices and availability.
This launch highlights a broader industry movement toward AI travel agents, which has accelerated in 2025.
For example, in August 2025, India’s Yatra Online introduced DIYA, an AI travel agent that offers trip planning, search and comparison of travel options, and booking within a single interface. The launch came soon after MakeMyTrip’s rollout of Myra, an agent with similar capabilities.
