Expedia Will Buy Tiqets to Boost B2B Travel Experiences

Frame

Expedia Group has announced plans to acquire Tiqets, the Amsterdam-based platform known for its curated access to museums, attractions, and cultural experiences.

The move is designed to strengthen Expedia’s B2B ecosystem and expand its ability to offer partners and travelers a more complete end-to-end travel journey. The purchase price has not been disclosed.

Deal specifics

Tiqets brings a decade of direct venue relationships and an extensive catalog of high-demand attractions, from priority entry at the Louvre to skip the line access at landmarks like the Eiffel Tower.

These products will be integrated into Expedia’s existing lineup of flights, hotels, rental cars, and insurance through expanded APIs.

Tiqets CEO Laurens Leurink said the deal would allow the company to pair its curated inventory with Expedia’s scale while retaining the Tiqets brand.

The acquisition requires approval from the Dutch Works Council, along with routine regulatory checks. If all conditions are met, Expedia expects the deal to close in the first quarter of 2026.

Strategic fit

Expedia has long offered a broad range of travel products to other resellers, but its B2B tools lacked extensive access to experiences, an area that has become a major driver of trip planning and revenue growth.

Tiqets fills that gap with real-time availability, integrations with cultural venues, and the ability to upsell premium add-ons like guided tours or flexible entry.

The integration will help Expedia’s partners, including OTAs and airlines, generate additional revenue without building their own experiences inventory from zero.

It also gives travelers the convenience of booking attractions alongside core travel components in one place.

Industry trend

The acquisition reflects a wider shift across the travel industry as companies race to build full trip platforms.

Earlier this year, Trip.com Group announced a partnership with Coras, a Dublin-based ticketing company, allowing customers to book event and performance tickets directly through Trip.com.  The company noted that its platform had lacked experiences, which play a major role in influencing travel decisions.
