Global investment firm Certares Real Estate Management LLC has acquired a majority stake in Hyatt Regency Greenwich, located in suburban Connecticut, from Trinity Investments.

The transaction marks another milestone in the ongoing collaboration between Certares and Trinity, which began in 2021 with their joint purchase of the EAST Miami hotel.

Trinity Investments originally acquired the hotel from Hyatt in October 2022.

Following the acquisition, Trinity invested $35 million into a full-scale renovation, transforming the property into a suburban retreat with art deco design elements.

The upgrades included modernized guest rooms, over 35,000 square feet of event space, an indoor pool, fitness center, and enhanced dining venues such as Townsend Bar and Glenna’s Café. Trinity also added a 40-seat luxury movie theater, Townsend Cinema, in partnership with Monoplex.

Earlier this summer, Hyatt sold the entire Playa Hotels & Resorts real estate portfolio to Tortuga Resorts for $2 billion.
