Breeze Loyalty Upgrade Adds Elite Perks to Win Delta Flyers

Breeze Airways has overhauled its loyalty program, Breezy Rewards, ahead of the 2026 travel year. The updated program replaces the previous simple revenue-based points system and is designed to appeal to both frequent flyers and occasional travelers looking for tangible perks and enhanced travel experiences.
What’s new in Breezy Rewards
The redesigned program introduces four elite status tiers (Breezy 1, Breezy 2, Breezy 3, and Breezy Club), which travelers unlock by earning qualifying BreezePoints through flights, seat upgrades, and ancillary purchases.
Each tier offers increasing benefits, including confirmed upgrades at booking, priority boarding, bonus points, and “Buddy Discounts” that allow companions to travel for up to 100 percent off on the same reservation.
This approach marks a major shift from the previous model, which primarily involved earning points that had a fixed cash value and could only be redeemed after travel, offering limited immediate rewards.
Competitive pressure on Delta and Southwest
While Breezy Rewards still uses a revenue-based earning model common among US carriers, its tiered perks resemble legacy carrier programs, offering tangible loyalty incentives. This combination has the potential to attract travelers from Delta and Southwest, particularly those frustrated by complex loyalty programs or perceived reduced value.
Breeze has been expanding its US network rapidly, serving secondary airports, and plans to launch international routes to Mexico and the Caribbean in 2026. Combining network expansion with an upgraded loyalty program, Breeze is targeting market share from larger carriers that rely on hub-and-spoke systems and more rigid loyalty structures.
Recently, American Airlines also announced a loyalty program overhaul to better compete with Delta and United.
