Airbus UK Workers Plan 10 Strike Days in September 2025

The Unite union has announced plans for 10 strike days scheduled throughout September 2025. The union represents over 3,000 aircraft fitters and engineers at Airbus's UK operations.

The decision follows a decisive 90 percent vote from Unite members in favor of striking.

The union demands a wage settlement that aligns with the UK's rising inflation rate, recognizes workers' skills, and reflects Airbus’s record of strong profitability in recent years.

The strikes will take place over three weeks, beginning September 2–3, continuing on September 10–11, and followed by five further days from 15 September, depending on site-specific shift arrangements.

The strikes are expected to impact production of aircraft wings at Airbus’s major UK plants in Broughton, Wales, and Filton, Gloucestershire. These sites are critical in manufacturing wings for key aircraft programs, including the A320, A330, A350, and the military A400M.

The announcement comes just a few days after Air Canada’s flight attendants ended their strike. The airline reached a tentative agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) after four days of striking.
