Air Canada and ITA Airways Add Flights to the US and Italy

On July 14, 2025, Air Canada and ITA Airways announced a codeshare agreement, enabling passengers to book one-stop itineraries between Canada (via Toronto) and Italy (via Rome). Tickets are available as of July 14, 2025, for travel beginning July 21.
Air Canada adds its “AC” code to 10 ITA-operated flights from Rome–Fiumicino to Italian cities (e.g., Palermo, Florence), plus Cairo, Tunis, Algiers, Tirana, and Tel Aviv.
ITA Airways adds its “AZ” code to 10 Air Canada flights from Toronto to Canadian cities (e.g., Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary) and select US cities (Boston, Orlando, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale).
This gives travelers more booking options between North America and Italy, including major hubs and secondary cities across both continents.
The codeshare supports ITA Airways’ planned entry into Star Alliance. The transition from SkyTeam (until April 2025) to Star Alliance in 2026 is supported by both Star Alliance and Lufthansa Group.
Reciprocal frequent-flyer earning and redemption plans are in development.
