Ukraine is Under Attack, the Free Democratic World is Under Attack, We Must Stand United

Ukraine endures an unprovoked, full-scale military invasion by the Russian Federation. The sole purpose of Putin and his dictatorship regime: Destroy our state and dismantle the democratic and free world architecture as we know it. This is a direct assault on Western values. His aspiration is to divide the world into areas of political influence and strip people of their basic rights to choose their government, as well as their political, and ideological orientation.

Ukraine fights at the frontier of the Western World. Its future is being decided now, in Ukrainian trenches, and its cities under siege, by the Ukrainian army, volunteers, society, and government.

Ukraine fights fiercely and manages to stop Russian advancement

The Russian attack meant to be swift and decisive has failed to achieve any measurable success. No major Ukrainian cities have been captured. The Ukrainian military stopped the advancement of the Russian forces in the North and prevented the capture of Kyiv, the capital. In the East, the city of Kharkiv stands strong. Russian troops couldn’t manage to encircle let alone occupy the city. Heavy fights are raging in the Donbas region and around the major port-city, Mariupol. In the South, near the previously occupied Crimean peninsula, Russian forces managed to advance further into the Ukrainian mainland but were also stopped.

Not only are the Ukrainian army, national guard, territorial defense, and police engaged in fending off the aggressor. The entire Ukrainian society stands united. People in cities are preparing Molotov cocktails to burn Russian vehicles, citizens are flooding the streets to prevent Russian tanks and keep infantry units from passing. Volunteers are helping the military and civilians with food, medicine, and basic supplies.

Having failed to advance on the ground, Russians resorted to heavy and indiscriminate shelling of cities and air raids in Kyiv, and Eastern and Southern Ukraine. People there are forced to hide in bomb shelters and metro stations. Civilian casualties are measured in hundreds. The western part of the country remains safe.

AltexSoft evacuates staff and their families to the Western regions and neighboring countries to preserve business continuity

As of Monday, February 28, 85 percent of the AltexSoft team have been in safe locations and continue to work. AltexSoft was established in Kharkiv, which prior to this war, was the primary R&D center for our company. We took and continue to take all measures to evacuate employees, their families, and those with whom they have close ties to the Western regions of Ukraine and neighboring countries. Currently, 85 percent of Ukraine-based employees are in safe locations in the West of the country, and most returned to work Monday, February 28. Everyone in the company is resolute in their commitment to continue providing services to our clients.

Our technical infrastructure is resilient and cloud-based. AltexSoft’s technical infrastructure doesn’t depend on specific locations. In 2021, the company did whatever was necessary to enable employees to work fully remotely and perform their duties with little to no interruptions. The infrastructure is still resilient and secure.

AltexSoft’s Emergency Committee continuously works to accommodate employees in new locations. AltexSoft’s Emergency Committee, consisting of the management team, works nonstop to help employees with finding accommodation in the Western parts of the country, including such cities as Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk. Our employees, working in the USA, Georgia, Poland, Slovakia, France, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan, contribute to uninterrupted client-facing and internal operations.

AltexSoft provides financial help to its employees. We’ve allocated a measurable share of corporate spending to support those employees who need financial help as they relocate with their families and loved ones. Besides helping employees, AltexSoft directs donations to the army, volunteers, and refugees via our own contacts and charity funds.

Here’s how you can help

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We really need your support. Knowing that you care about us helps every one of us stay grounded and resilient through this time of crisis. Drop a line to a person you know from our company or Ukraine in general and this may help them make it through the day and keep their hopes up. We appreciate the feeling that we’re not alone.

Contact your government representatives to encourage their efforts towards helping Ukraine. This isn’t a war against Ukraine only. This war targets the principles and values of a free and democratic world. We’re not alone in defending these ideals. That’s why any political support from you is invaluable. Appeal to your government representatives and media to continue forcing this issue and help our cause through:

  • increasing economic sanctions against the Russian economy: blocking Russian financial assets, cutting all economic ties with the aggressor, including fossil fuel contracts.
  • supplying weaponry and other military equipment to Ukrainian forces.
  • closing the skies over Ukraine to prevent Russia from using their air force or providing air defense weaponry and ammunition.

Send financial help to the Ukrainian state. Financial help is needed. If you have resources to support us and our resistance financially, please do. Every dollar or euro counts. The National Bank of Ukraine has created accounts for donations to support Ukraine through these hard times. Find account information for your currency of choice on the official page of the National Bank of Ukraine. We’ll copy the account information below.

Trust us and believe in us. As a company, we will find our way to overcome this grave challenge. As a country, we will fight and persevere. Have faith in us.

We will win this war. We’ll stay strong and united to save our freedom.

Slava Ukraini!
