A Year with AltexSoft: the 2019 Roundup

Carlsbad, CA – January 10, 2019 – Science tells us that people “experience enhanced motivation” to work on their goals at certain “temporal landmarks”, like meaningful dates on the calendar. So, New Year’s resolutions make total sense. They take advantage of our human nature. But before we set our year goals, why not go back to the year passed and make a quick review of the biggest happenings of 2018?

Growing in size

AltexSoft turned 11 in 2018, just in time for our biggest growth spurt. Starting the year with 150 people, we closed it out as a team of more than 200 – significant expansion in anybody’s book. New projects and opportunities have led us to invite additional specialists to the company, find more cozy places and offices to work in: We now happily occupy two offices in Kharkiv and the larger Lviv team is enjoying an expanded space as well.

Introducing product management expertise

Not only did we get bigger, we also increased our menu of professional services. Now, along with engineering, data science, travel technology, and digital transformation, we provide product management consulting. Handling all planning, research, development, and marketing, our product management expertise positions us to provide end-to-end product oversight that addresses client’s business-level problems.

Attending conferences worldwide

Previously, for the most part, we shared our knowledge, experiences, and client stories online. But in 2018, we decided to get out of the office to meet and greet the people in our industry in person. Our conference participation journey started at the end of 2017 when we attended the Smart Travel Data Summit in Amsterdam and continued throughout 2018. We gave speeches, participated in panel discussions, and presented case studies based on our work with clients at Travel Technology Europe in London, HITEC in Houston, and Digital Travel Summit in Las Vegas. Inclusion in Inc. 5000

In 2018, we celebrated our inclusion in Inc. 5000 as one of the fastest growing private businesses in the US. We experienced 576 percent growth from 2014 to 2017. That growth secured our place among the selected companies. Apart from that, AltexSoft was once again recognized by Clutch as one of the leading B2B companies in the world – the ranking based on customer reviews on the platform. As the quote by Jonas Salk goes, “The reward for work well done is the opportunity to do more.”

Organizing the biggest yet AI Ukraine conference

Once again we organized one of the biggest gatherings of AI professionals in Europe – AI Ukraine. The fifth installment of the annual conference broke many of its records – two streams of lectures plus the workshops, two engaging panel discussions, and even more brilliant speakers from around the globe. And last, but certainly not least, we had the largest number of participants ever, inducing us to move the event to Kyiv. Formulating highlights of the year helps create a better map of the future – realize what works well, what doesn’t, and the opportunities that are poised to unfold.
