Low season

Low season is the time of year when a destination or a place (e.g., a hotel) has the fewest visitors. For travelers, it offers cheaper prices and easier access to accommodations and activities.

Usually it’s low season in travel because of unfavorable weather conditions, lack of major festivals or events, school schedules (that reduce family travel), and natural disaster risks. For example, the Caribbean’s low season is typically from late summer through fall, because of the high incidence of hurricanes.

Businesses promote low-season travel by offering discounted rates, creating special packages, and launching loyalty promotions.
