About AltexSoft
We're looking for a Senior Project Manager to own delivery for one of our client engagements — someone equally comfortable discussing scope with a CTO and grooming a backlog with engineers. You'll sit at the center of the relationship between our team and the client, turning business priorities into a clear, well-run delivery process, and keeping things stable even when the team or scope shifts. This is a role for someone who treats process as a craft, not overhead, and who's trusted to make calls that affect both client happiness and engineering health.
About Project
The Senior Project Manager will take full ownership of a complex, long-term client project, ensuring stable delivery, strong stakeholder alignment, and mature process management. The role replaces an existing PM and is critical for maintaining trust with both the client and a senior, highly experienced engineering team.
You Have
- Senior-level Project Management experience in complex, long-running software projects
- Strong background working with: Distributed teams (~15 FTE) Senior engineers and technical leads
- Clients without a formal Product Manager on their side.
- Technical literacy: Not expected to make technical decisions
- Must understand technical discussions and argue decisions logically and credibly
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, including: Managing ~10 client stakeholders at different engagement levels
- Explaining trade-offs, risks, and decisions clearly
- High level of process thinking and structure, with flexibility to adapt processes as the project evolves
- Strong authority and presence to earn respect from a mature, long-tenured team
You Are Going To
- Own end-to-end project management, from planning through delivery and execution.
- Manage and prioritize scope based on client input and internal validation
- Coordinate releases and groom the backlog in close collaboration with subject-matter experts and engineers.
- Manage stakeholders, communicating regularly with client-side subject-matter experts and senior stakeholders, including at CTO/CEO level.
- Own and improve core processes, including Jira workflows and automation, user story quality and acceptance, release and estimation processes, and the roadmap actualization process.
- Act as the bridge between engineering and the client, facilitating technical discussions between the team and stakeholders with clear, logical, and technically grounded arguments
- Maintain delivery stability during periods of team or scope change.
