Travel voucher
A travel voucher is a prepaid certificate or credit issued by companies that can be used for future travel-related expenses. It functions like a gift certificate and can be redeemed for products or services such as flights, hotel stays, car rentals, tours, and other activities.
Travel vouchers can be issued due to cancellations, promotions, or as part of a customer service gesture (e.g., compensation for delays or issues). They usually have a set time frame—if not used by the expiration date, the voucher becomes invalid or reduces in value.
Depending on the terms and conditions, travel vouchers may be nontransferable, meaning only the original recipient can use them. There may be other restrictions, such as being valid only for certain services (e.g., standard rooms in hotels) or specific routes or destinations. Some may also have blackout dates or other limitations during peak seasons.
