Experiences
In the travel industry, experiences refer to the activities and attractions travelers engage in at their destination. This includes everything from bespoke tours to guided hikes.
Travelers today increasingly value experiences and actively seek ways to connect with local culture, nature, food, or history. This shift has led to the rise in niche segments like agritourism, culinary tourism, ecotourism, and heritage tourism, among others. Experiences allow travelers to go beyond sightseeing and participate in events that reflect the destination’s identity.
Tour operators and hotels now partner with destination management companies (DMCs) or directly with local providers to offer add-on experiences that make trips more personalized. In corporate travel, adding leisure experiences is becoming more common, helping travelers balance work and relaxation (the trend is sometimes called “bleisure“).
