A design hotel is a property that mainly focuses on its decor, furnishings, architecture, and other interior/exterior aesthetic aspects. It usually follows modern/contemporary trends, but can also implement eclectic decorative styles.

Such properties are often designed by famous architects, interior designers, or even fashion designers as an expression of their unique style.

Design hotels are often luxury properties aiming to provide their guests with an exceptional, one-of-a-kind experience. They can be boutique hotels, resorts, aparthotels, and other upper-end hotel types. Sometimes, the design hotel concept is implemented in alternative accommodations such as eco-resorts, treehouses, caves, igloos, former monasteries, etc.
