We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a newly formed Data Products team at a fast-growing AI platform reshaping commercial strategy for the hospitality industry. This team sits at the foundational layer of the company's entire data ecosystem — turning raw, ingested data into trusted, high-quality data products that power everything downstream, from customer-facing features to internal analytics and machine learning. You'll be joining at a formative stage, with real influence over how the team's practices, data models, and pipelines get built from the ground up.
About Project
The company operates the world's largest hotel data network, transforming it into real-time intelligence that thousands of hotels across the globe rely on to make faster, smarter commercial decisions. The Data Products team is the definitive source of truth for this data — owning core data modeling, pipeline engineering, and data quality standards that feed both the Product Engineering and Data Science & Analytics teams. The company works closely with an Integrations team (which handles raw data ingestion) and a Data Platform team (which provides infrastructure and tooling), meaning this role sits squarely at the intersection of data, product, and business impact.
You Have
- Experience in a data engineering role, with a proven track record of designing and building scalable, reliable data pipelines
- Professional proficiency in Python for data processing and pipeline development
- Strong hands-on knowledge of cloud data warehouse solutions such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Databricks
- A product engineering mindset, with genuine interest in understanding business context and translating stakeholder needs into data solutions
- Track record of working directly with data consumers — gathering requirements, clarifying scope, and delivering solutions that hold up in production
- A forward-thinking approach to AI as a core part of modern data architecture, with proven interest or hands-on experience using LLMs, agentic workflows, or AI-assisted development tools
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable bridging technical and non-technical conversations across teams
Would be a plus
- Experience with microservice architectures and streaming systems like Kafka or Google Cloud Pub/Sub
- Familiarity with data governance or data quality tooling such as Atlan or Soda
- Experience mentoring or supporting the growth of other engineers
You Are Going To
- Become the go-to expert for key data products, owning the full data lifecycle from ingestion through business application
- Design, implement, and maintain both streaming and batch data pipelines that power core products and internal analytics
- Work directly with data consumers across the company to understand their needs and translate them into reliable, well-modeled data solutions
- Drive measurable improvements in data quality, latency, and reliability across the foundational data layer
- Bring a product mindset to every pipeline you build — solving real business problems, not just moving data
- Help embed AI more deeply into the platform, building AI-powered features while championing AI-assisted development practices within the engineering team
- Mentor other engineers on the team, sharing what you know and helping others grow
