Otto The Agent Launches Publicly, Bringing AI-Powered Travel Assistance to Business Travelers

Otto The Agent, an AI-powered business travel assistant, officially launched to the public on 4 December 2025, offering business travelers and small companies an “executive-assistant-level” travel management experience. The platform, developed by veterans from Expedia, Egencia, and Concur, streamlines travel planning, booking, and disruption management in a single, conversational interface.
Otto enables users to book flights, hotels, and other travel services internally, without needing to navigate multiple booking websites. The platform learns individual preferences, including favorite airlines, hotel brands, seating choices, and itinerary patterns, and can sync with users’ calendars to suggest optimized travel plans. In case of changes, Otto can automatically rebook flights and adjust hotel reservations, functioning as a dedicated travel assistant.

During its nine-month closed beta, Otto completed more than 100 bookings for early users, demonstrating its ability to handle real-world business travel scenarios. The platform is now publicly available, with pilot programs underway in partnership with Direct Travel for managed corporate travel. Early adopters benefit from a 12-month free access period, allowing users to explore the platform’s capabilities with minimal barriers.
With its public launch, Otto represents a step toward democratizing high-quality travel management. By combining AI-driven automation with personalized service, the platform aims to provide smaller companies with tools previously accessible only to large enterprises with dedicated travel teams. Future updates are expected to include loyalty program integration, ground transportation management, and enhanced expense-tracking features.
In November, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, revealed that in the future users may be able to book hotels in "one click" directly through ChatGPT, signaling a major shift in how consumers interact with travel platforms.
