Elavon Takes Payments Mobile as Hotels Chase Faster Guest Service

Elavon expanded its All-In-One payments platform across North America.

The platform helps businesses accept payments in stores, on mobile devices, and online.

Elavon is a payments company owned by US Bank. It works with businesses that need to process card and digital payments. With this update, the company is focusing more on connected commerce, where payments, software, and service tools work together in one system.

Hotels and restaurants' guests no longer pay only at the front desk or cashier counter. They may order at a restaurant table, buy a drink by the pool, pay at an event, or complete a purchase online. Elavon wants to make those payments easier for staff to manage.

Why hospitality businesses need this

Hotels often use several systems at the same time. One system may handle restaurant orders, another may process payments, and another may manage room charges or reports. When these systems do not connect well, staff can lose time and mistakes become more likely.

Elavon’s platform is designed to reduce that problem. It lets hotel and restaurant teams use mobile devices that can support both ordering and payment.

Partner integrations are the main point

Elavon is building the platform with technology partners instead of forcing businesses into one closed system. Many hotels already use specific software for food and beverage, guest service, and daily operations.

The company named Agilysys, Oracle, Shiji, and xnPOS among its integrations. These companies provide point-of-sale and hospitality software used by hotels, resorts, restaurants, and service venues. Elavon also works with Castles Technology on Android-based handheld devices that can run POS software and accept payments.

Elavon’s move also fits a wider hotel technology trend toward combining service, ordering, and payments on one device. A similar shift was seen in Shiji and FreedomPay, where the companies connected Shiji’s Infrasys POS, Astral Payments, and FreedomPay’s commerce platform to help hotel staff serve guests faster from a single device.
