Air France-KLM Eyes Full SAS Control in New Codeshare Deal

Air France-KLM Group and SAS Scandinavian Airlines have announced a new codeshare agreement to strengthen connectivity between Scandinavia and the US.
The move aligns with Air France-KLM’s broader goal to expand control over SAS following its successful Chapter 11 restructuring. Air France-KLM acquired 19.9 percent of SAS and plans to increase its stake by Q3 2026, ultimately turning SAS into a subsidiary.
Air France will add its flight codes to SAS-operated nonstop transatlantic flights. The expanded codeshare includes flights departing from
- Copenhagen (CPH),
- Stockholm Arlanda (ARN),
- and Oslo (OSL)
to major US cities
- Atlanta (ATL),
- Boston (BOS),
- Chicago (ORD),
- Los Angeles (LAX),
- Miami (MIA),
- New York (JFK and EWR),
- San Francisco (SFO),
- Seattle (SEA),
- and Washington, DC (IAD).
This will allow passengers to book flights with a single ticket and earn rewards like Flying Blue miles and EuroBonus points across both networks.
This month, Qantas and Malaysia Airlines announced a new codeshare agreement, while Icelandair and Alaska Airlines renewed their partnership.
