Travel agency code

A travel agency code is a unique number that organizations like the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) assign to a travel agency.

The IATA number (officially called the IATA Numeric Code) is a unique 7-digit identification number assigned to IATA-accredited travel agencies. The ARC number is issued to US-based travel agencies that have gone through the ARC accreditation process.

Both codes prove that a travel agency is authorized to issue airline tickets on behalf of airlines. They also verify an agency’s credibility and provide access to industry-specific IATA Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) and ARC financial instruments.

Besides that, agency codes allow resellers to book flights, accommodations, and car rentals at discounted rates.
