Pseudo city code
A pseudo city code (PCC) is a short alphanumeric code (usually 3-5 characters) assigned to a specific office, travel agency branch, or department within a global distribution system (GDS). This code allows travel agencies to manage bookings, access negotiated rates, and apply their own business rules or restrictions when working with the GDS.
PCCs ensure that agents see only the relevant content for their organization, such as contracted fares or hotel rates. For example, a travel management company (TMC) might use multiple PCCs to differentiate between corporate clients, leisure sales, or group travel bookings.
In addition to controlling access, PCCs are used for tracking performance, assigning commissions, and managing workflows across multiple office locations. When combined with GDS features like private fares or corporate negotiated rates, PCCs help travel businesses offer tailored pricing and services to their clients.
