Lido deck
The lido deck is the open-air top deck of a cruise ship. It acts as a central social hub where passengers relax, dine, and enjoy a variety of outdoor and poolside activities, such as live music or movie nights.
The design and amenities available on a lido deck depend on the ship’s class and target demographic. However, some common features include
- swimming pools and jacuzzis,
- sun loungers and deck chairs,
- poolside bars and grills,
- open-air entertainment, and
- recreational activities (water volleyball, dance classes, etc.)
While the lido deck offers many attractions, people prone to motion sickness may find it less comfortable because it’s located on one of the higher decks, where the ship’s rocking feels stronger. Also, cabins near the lido deck may experience more noise due to the high foot traffic and activities in the area.
