IROPS (Irregular Operations)

IROPS (Irregular Operations) refers to disruptions in airline schedules caused by unforeseen events such as severe weather, technical malfunctions, air traffic control delays, security incidents, or labor strikes.

The term is used to categorize and manage situations where flights do not operate according to their published schedules.

When an irregular operation occurs, the airline first identifies the affected flights and assesses the scope and expected duration of the disruption. Flight crews, ground staff, and maintenance teams are mobilized to implement contingency plans, which may include reassigning aircraft, rescheduling crews, and rerouting passengers.

Airline systems continuously update flight statuses, gate information, and connection schedules to reflect changes caused by the disruption.
