United’s New MileagePlus Debit Card Unlocks Miles on Everyday Spend

United Airlines has announced the launch of its new debit card called MileagePlus Debit Rewards.
The card allows customers to earn miles from their everyday spending and savings in their accounts, offering a new way to accumulate travel rewards and expanding the airline’s loyalty ecosystem.
- Cardholders earn 1 mile for every $1 spent on United purchases, including flights, baggage fees, seat upgrades, and in-flight food and beverages.
- For other qualifying purchases like retail, dining, and groceries, customers earn 1 mile for every $2 spent.
- To attract new users, United is offering a 10,000-mile welcome bonus when members spend $500 within the first four months.
- When users spend $10,000 annually, they receive an additional 2,500-mile bonus.
- The card carries no monthly fee for customers who maintain an average daily balance of $2,000 or more, while others pay a $4 monthly fee.
- Travelers can lock their cards and set spending limits.
MileagePlus Debit Rewards is powered by Galileo, SoFi’s technology platform, and operates in partnership with Visa. It is available to eligible program members who can apply without undergoing a credit check.
Recently, United Airlines officially launched the Blue Sky partnership with JetBlue, introducing new benefits for loyalty program members of both carriers.
