Tripadvisor Launches Loyalty Program with Trip Cash Perks

Tripadvisor has launched "Tripadvisor Rewards," a free in-app loyalty program.

The program offers 5 percent back in "Trip Cash" on eligible hotel and experience bookings, with one Trip Cash equaling $1 off future bookings. Trip Cash can be applied in any amount per booking, and earnings never expire.

The program allows users to collect bonus rewards through tasks such as writing reviews and adding travel tips.

Existing Tripadvisor members are automatically enrolled in the program.

While currently limited to the US, Tripadvisor is exploring opportunities for global rollout.

Earlier this summer, Starboard Value took a 9 percent stake in Tripadvisor, becoming one of the largest shareholders. The investment firm plans to actively engage with Tripadvisor’s board regarding potential changes, possibly through board nominations and repositioning of business lines.
