Scandic Hotels Group Acquires Dalata Hotels for $1.6B

On July 15, 2025, Dalata Hotel Group, Ireland’s largest hotel operator, agreed to be acquired by Scandic Hotels Group AB and a Scandinavian consortium led by Pandox AB (91.5 percent) and Eiendomsspar AS (8.5 percent) in a €1.4 billion (around $1.6 billion) takeover.
The deal is expected to be completed in Q4 2025. Once the takeover closes, Scandic Hotels will manage Dalata’s hotel operations while real estate transitions to Pandox and Eiendomsspar.
Within 12–18 months post-close, Scandic has the option to acquire the operating business for €500 million (around $430 million), formalizing the operator-owner model.
Dalata’s board unanimously approved the proposal, which includes a €6.45 ($5.55) per share offer.
Dalata brings 56 hotels (over 12,000 rooms) across Ireland, the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands, primarily under the Maldron and Clayton brands.
