Qantas Cuts Executive Bonuses 15% Over June 2025 Data Breach

Qantas Airways has announced a 15 percent reduction in short-term bonuses for its executive leadership team, including CEO Vanessa Hudson, for the fiscal year 2025.
This decision follows a data breach that occurred in June 2025, which compromised the data of around six million customers.
The cyberattack involved criminals impersonating a Qantas employee and tricking a customer service operator into revealing customer information. The exposed data included names, email addresses, phone numbers, birth dates, and frequent flyer numbers.
As a result, Vanessa Hudson’s bonus was reduced by A$250,000 (approximately US$163,000), and five other top executives face a cut of about A$550,000 (US$360,000).
