Navan and AmEx Launch Virtual‑Card Integration

Navan, the all‑in‑one business travel and expense management platform, announced a strategic integration with American Express that allows US Commercial and Business Corporate Card members to instantly generate unique, on-demand virtual card numbers for corporate travel bookings made via Navan Connect, the company’s card-linking technology.
Navan's participation in the American Express Sync™ Commercial Partner Program enables users to create virtual cards at checkout, rather than exposing their actual American Express card number.
Each virtual card can come with pre‑set spend controls, such as daily limits, merchant or vendor restrictions, category rules, and expiration dates, which help enforce travel policy and minimize fraud risk.
Despite using virtual card numbers, cardholders retain the ability to earn rewards on their eligible American Express card, since the underlying account remains the same.
As of August 3, 2025, the integration is officially live for eligible users: US American Express Business or Corporate Purchasing Card members can enroll separately with Navan and AmEx to access virtual‑card rollout through the Navan platform. However, availability remains limited to US card programs and payments accepted by American Express merchants.

Virtual corporate cards have become increasingly common among travel and spend‑management platforms. They offer granular control, fraud resistance, and simplified workflow integration.
