Mews and SiteMinder Link Hotel Data as AI Raises the Stakes

Mews and SiteMinder launched a native hotel technology integration, according to Skift, bringing hotel distribution directly into the Mews operating system.

The new product, Mews Channel Manager powered by SiteMinder, was presented at Mews Unfold in Amsterdam. It lets hotels manage room availability, rates, and booking channels from the same platform they use for daily property operations.

Mews is a cloud-based hotel operating system used for reservations, payments, check-ins, and guest workflows. SiteMinder is a hotel commerce platform that helps properties sell rooms across online travel agencies and other booking channels. The goal is to reduce the need for hotels to move between separate systems when managing operations and distribution.

Hotels need more connected systems

Many hotels still use separate tools for property management, revenue management, channel distribution, and guest communication. This setup gives hotels flexibility, but it can also slow teams down. Staff may need to update rates in one place, check availability in another, and compare performance in a third system.

That can create real revenue risk. If room prices or availability do not update quickly across booking channels, hotels can miss demand or sell rooms at the wrong price. The new integration aims to make these updates faster and more consistent, with changes flowing from the hotel operating system into connected sales channels.

AI makes the data problem more urgent

The partnership is also about preparing hotels for AI-powered operations. AI tools may eventually help hotels adjust prices, manage inventory, and improve revenue strategies. But they need clean and connected data to do that well. If hotel data is delayed or spread across too many systems, AI tools may make weak or incomplete recommendations.

The Mews-SiteMinder deal also fits a wider Mews strategy to bring more hotel services into one operating system. Mews added Uber rides to its platform, allowing hotels to manage guest transport from the same system they use for operations and payments. Together, the SiteMinder and Uber partnerships show how Mews is trying to turn the hotel operating system into a broader control center for distribution, guest services, payments, and future automation.
