Kayak for Business Adds “Events” to Manage Travel Logistics

KAYAK for Business, the corporate arm of travel metasearch brand Kayak, has introduced a new feature called “Events.”
The new capability helps companies coordinate travel for meetings, conferences, recruiting visits, and other business events.
Rather than acting as an event management system, the tool focuses on travel logistics. It brings together flight and hotel booking, travel policy enforcement, payment setup, guest invitations, and reporting into a single workflow.
How it works
The new feature allows organizers to connect travel planning directly to specific gatherings. Companies can import event data from external meetings management systems or build event parameters directly within the KAYAK for Business platform. Once an event is defined, the system automatically launches a dedicated travel booking flow linked to that event.
From there, administrators can establish travel policies and payment rules that apply only to that specific gathering.
Tailored policies for different types of attendees
The feature can handle different traveler profiles within the same event.
Internal employees, external speakers, job candidates, contractors, and other invitees often require different booking permissions and payment structures. The platform allows planners to define separate rules for each category.
Payment rules can also differ, ensuring consistent oversight while accommodating varied attendee types.
Invitations, tracking, and payment automation
Organizers can send travel invitations either individually or in bulk to as many as 10,000 participants. Each invitee receives a unique link that directs them to the booking workflow with pre-set rules already applied.
Planners also gain access to live dashboards that display RSVP responses, booking status, policy compliance, itinerary changes, and cancellations. In addition, Events supports virtual card generation, simplifying payment handling and giving finance teams clearer oversight of event-related travel spending.
