JetBlue Leads the US with AI-Powered Fuel Optimization

JetBlue Airways has announced it became the first US commercial airline to integrate SkyBreathe MyFuelCoach, an AI-powered tool for fuel usage optimization.
MyFuelCoach provides pilots with recommendations based on historical flight data and real-time insights to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions on future flights.
JetBlue’s fuel optimization team uses the tool to identify systemic patterns and areas to reduce fuel consumption, such as improved scheduling at specific airports.
These efforts reflect broader industry trends focused on fuel efficiency and environmental responsibility. In June 2025, British Airways signed a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) supply agreement with EcoCeres, expecting to achieve an estimated 80 percent lifecycle reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
