Amex Ends Hawaiian Airlines Partnership, Launches New Offer with Alaska Airlines

On June 30, 2025, Amex ended its long-standing partnership with Hawaiian Airlines, including Membership Rewards transfer links to HawaiianMiles.
On July 3, Amex launched a new airfare offer with Alaska Airlines: Eligible cardholders will receive a $60 statement credit on at least $300 spent directly via Alaska Airlines, active through September 30, 2025.
The offer is valid for flights originating in the US and includes fare add-ons (e.g., upgrades and baggage) but excludes third-party bookings or in-flight purchases.
Amex cardholders previously earned bonus points and enjoyed airfare discounts on Hawaiian Airlines. These benefits, along with Membership Rewards transfer options, concluded as of June 30. The removal of Hawaiian as a transfer partner ends the indirect ability to route Amex points into Alaska’s Mileage Plan via HawaiianMiles.
Alaska Airlines, now controlling more Hawaii-bound traffic, gains a boost in loyalty program support from Amex, positioning itself as the new go-to airline for Hawaii perks.
