Amadeus, SITA, AACO Unite to Deliver Flight Carbon Footprint Data

Amadeus has partnered with SITA and the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO) to improve the accuracy and transparency of emissions data across the air travel industry.
SITA is a global company that provides IT and telecommunication services specifically for the air transport sector, while AACO is a regional association that represents the interests of Arab airlines.
The goal of this three-way collaboration is to offer both airlines and passengers more reliable, flight-specific greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions information. By improving data precision, the aviation industry can make better sustainability decisions, and travelers can more confidently compare the environmental impact of different flight options.
The partnership integrates SITA Eco Mission, which uses real aircraft performance data, fuel burn statistics, and operational metrics to calculate accurate emissions, with the Amadeus Travel Impact Suite, a platform that consolidates carbon emissions data. Together, these tools aim to build an end-to-end ecosystem that provides verified emissions information.
Meanwhile, AACO supports the initiative as part of its broader effort to strengthen environmental accountability and improve standardized emissions reporting across the region’s carriers.
This collaboration reflects a growing global focus on sustainable aviation. For example, the GBTA Foundation recently launched a resource hub, SAF Corporate Connect, to help corporate travel programs evaluate and incorporate sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
Airlines are also increasing their investments. American Airlines and Alaska Airlines created a $150 million fund to accelerate sustainable aviation technology development. Meanwhile, Hawaiian Airlines will start using SAF on select flights, and British Airways signed a SAF supply deal with EcoCeres.
