Promotional fare

A promotional fare is a specially discounted ticket price offered by an airline to stimulate demand among travelers who might not otherwise choose to fly.

Promotional fares are intentionally reduced for a limited time, specific travel dates, or particular customer segments in order to encourage bookings, fill unsold seats, or promote new routes and services.

Airlines use these discounts to influence traveler behavior, such as motivating early bookings, attracting price-sensitive leisure travelers, competing against other carriers on the same route, or generating interest during low-demand seasons. These fares are generally available to the public rather than restricted groups, which distinguishes them from negotiated fares.
