Intermediate stop

An intermediate stop refers to an enroute stop at a city located between the origin and the final destination of a journey.

It is a planned point in the itinerary where the traveler temporarily stops before continuing onward.

Unlike the origin and destination, which define the main endpoints of the trip, an intermediate stop exists within the travel path and may serve operational, logistical, or passenger-related purposes. The stop can be short, such as a connection between flights, or longer, depending on fare rules and the traveler’s plans.

An intermediate stop may allow passengers to change planes, switch airlines, or even spend time in the connecting city if immigration rules and ticket conditions allow.
