Interline baggage agreement

An interline baggage agreement is an arrangement between two or more airlines that allows checked baggage to be transferred from one carrier to another during a passenger’s journey without the traveler needing to collect and recheck the bags at each connection point.

The agreement essentially authorizes one carrier to accept responsibility for transferring baggage to the next participating carrier on behalf of the passenger.

This type of cooperation is especially important when an itinerary involves multiple airlines, as it enables the entire trip to function more like a single, continuous journey rather than a series of separate flights.
