Excursion fare
An excursion fare is a discounted, round-trip fare for air, land, or sea travel that is priced lower than a regular fare, but has specific conditions.
These fares are designed mainly for nonurgent or leisure travel and typically require the traveler to book in advance and follow rules about how long they stay at the destination. The reduced price is essentially a trade-off for accepting these restrictions.
By attaching conditions such as round-trip purchase, advance payment, and minimum or maximum stay limits, providers target price-sensitive travelers who can plan ahead. Meanwhile, those who need last-minute or highly flexible travel offerings opt for more expensive fare types.
