European Regions Airline Association (ERAA)

The European Regions Airline Association (ERAA) is a trade organization that represents regional airlines, associated businesses, and stakeholders across Europe. 

Founded in 1980, the ERAA advocates for the interests of smaller carriers that primarily operate short- to medium-haul flights connecting regional airports. These airlines often serve routes that are less profitable or less frequently traveled than major international hubs, but are vital for economic connectivity, business travel, and tourism within Europe. 

The ERAA works to ensure that smaller airlines can compete fairly, remain operationally viable, and access funding, infrastructure, and policy support. It organizes conferences, training programs, and networking events to foster knowledge sharing and collaboration among members. 

The association also monitors industry trends, provides guidance on safety, security, and environmental compliance, and engages with European regulators, airports, and other aviation stakeholders to shape legislation and standards that impact regional aviation.
