We are looking for an experienced Accountant who will take full responsibility for accounting and tax reporting of the company in Poland.
About Project
This role fully about ownership of accounting, tax, and partially HR administration for a legal entity in Poland. It is a highly autonomous position with minimal functional support, requiring full accountability for results.
You Have
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior or Chief Accountant in Poland
- Proven hands-on experience in independently managing full-cycle accounting and tax reporting in Poland
- In-depth knowledge of Polish accounting standards and tax regulations
- Practical experience with: CIT, VAT / JPK_V7, and statutory reporting
- Strong understanding of reporting deadlines and compliance requirements in Poland
- Experience in preparing financial statements and tax declarations
- Hands-on experience with full-cycle payroll processing in Poland
- Experience in preparing and submitting reports to ZUS
- Experience preparing PIT-11 forms
- Knowledge of taxation related to employee compensation, including reimbursements and business trips
- Practical experience with PPK
- Understanding of contribution calculations and their reflection in payroll and reporting
- Knowledge of tax aspects of employer-funded contributions
- Experience working with JDG and B2B contractors
- Understanding of different taxation forms (zasady ogólne, podatek liniowy, ryczałt)
- Proficient in Excel and accounting systems
- Working proficiency in Polish, English, and Ukrainian
Would be a plus
- Experience in an international environment or working with foreign owners
- Practical experience in HR administration in compliance with Polish legislation
- Knowledge of Polish labor law
- Experience with: umowa o pracę, umowa zlecenia, umowa o dzieło
- Basic understanding of BHP requirements
You Are Going To
- Own full-cycle accounting and tax reporting for the company in Poland, ensuring compliance with local regulations
- Independently close monthly and annual accounting periods
- Prepare and submit statutory financial and tax reports (CIT, VAT, JPK_V7)
- Maintain accounting records in line with Polish standards and ensure accuracy of all financial transactions
- Manage corporate income tax calculations, VAT reporting, and tax adjustments
- Handle communication with tax authorities and support audits or inquiries
- Run end-to-end payroll process, including salaries, taxes, and social contributions
- Prepare and submit ZUS reports and annual PIT-11 forms
- Administer PPK, including calculation and reporting of employee and employer contributions
- Maintain proper reflection of contributions in payroll, ZUS, and tax reporting
- Manage HR administration in line with Polish legislation
- Prepare and administer employment contracts (umowa o pracę), mandate contracts (umowa zlecenia), and specific-task contracts (umowa o dzieło)
- Oversee leaves, sick leaves, and employment changes, ensuring compliance with BHP requirements
- Prepare annual financial statements, including balance sheet and P&L
- Provide reporting for management, auditors, and external stakeholders
- Support cooperation with B2B contractors and JDG entities, including different taxation models
- Collaborate with banks, auditors, tax authorities, ZUS, and external service providers
- Drive process ownership by organizing and optimizing accounting and tax workflows
