United Flight Attendants Reject Contract Deal, Demand More

United Airlines flight attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants‑CWA (AFA‑CWA), rejected a tentative five‑year contract agreement.
The contract included an average pay raise of 26.9 percent, retroactive bonuses averaging $21,500 (and up to $50,000 for veteran staff), new boarding pay, and per-diem increases.
AFA leaders acknowledged the monetary gains but argued that the offer fell short on critical issues such as compensation for all working hours, ground duty pay, scheduling conditions, and work protections.
United flight attendants had not received a pay raise since 2020, which prompted them to initiate federal mediation and compile a list of demands.
AFA has announced plans to survey its 28,000 members to better define priorities before returning to negotiations.
United stated it remains committed to reaching a fair resolution.
This happened the same day DOT approved United’s “Blue Sky” partnership with JetBlue.
